The 1st Guangzhou International Conference on Neuropharmacology

The 1st Guangzhou International Conference on Neuropharmacology will be held at the Huihua Hilton Hotel Easeland Guangzhou (18 Shuixi Road, Science City, Huangpu District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province) on August 18-19th, 2019. The conference is hosted by the Guangzhou Regenerative Medicine and Health Guangdong Laboratory (GRMH-GDL), and co-organized by the Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences (GIBH, CAS).

The conference will focus on international advances of recent studies in the field of neuropharmacology, trends in study of pain and analgesic drugs, new research strategies for opioid analgesics, new clinical uses, and drug development in neurological diseases. Sincerely welcome domestic and oversea counterparts to attend the conference!

Guangzhou International Conference on Neuropharmacology

The conference is planned to be held once a year and will become one of the highest level conferences in the field of neuropharmacology research in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. In 2019, the first conference will be held and experts and scholars of well-known scientific institutes and universities from the United States, Europe, Hong Kong, Macau, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou will attend the conference.

Organizer

Guangzhou Regenerative Medicine and Health Guangdong Laboratory, or GRMH-GDL, was founded on 22 December 2017 as one of the first provincial laboratories to develop the reserves for constructing national laboratories in Guangdong Province and operated as a public institution.

GRMH-GDL is supported by the Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH) Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), joining hands with superior scientific research units in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and top international scientific research forces, to address major strategic needs of Guangdong Province and the whole country. Focusing on the basic research, the Laboratory is committed to becoming a world-leading hub of research and development, an international clinical research base for major stem cells and regenerative medicine studies, a cradle for top biomedical management talent and a center of regenerative medicine treatment in southern China.

The Laboratory adheres to the internationalization and high starting position, and invited a number of domestic top teams to join, including Academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Gang Pei, Yeguang Chen, Tao Xu, Fanfan Hou as well Academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Nanshan Zhong, Yingjun Wang, etc., and widely absorbed international top research forces. The laboratory made great progress in stem cells and regenerative medicine, drugs screening and equipment development, at present, the team members have published about 70 papers in internationally renowned magazines and journals such as Cell, Nature, with nearly 800 points impact factors cumulatively.

General Pain Institute, GPI

The General Pain Institute (GPI) is one of the specialized research centers under the GRMH-GDL, mainly carrying out pain-related research. By revealing the physiological and psychological mechanisms of pain, GPI committed to discovering new targets of pain drugs, developing novel, effective and safe analgesic drugs. We focus on the side effects of addiction and abuse of the original analgesic drugs to reduce addiction and drug dependence while preserving its original analgesic effect, and on mechanisms of other neurological diseases to develop drugs, and try to combine traditional drug therapy with regenerative medicine to explore new treatments for neurological diseases.

The honorary director of the GPI is Horace H. Loh, an Academician of Academia Sinica, Taiwan and Regents Professor of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (resigned). GPI has established an academic committee composed of experts such as Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Lizhi Xu and Yuru Ye, etc., and is actively recruiting researchers and managers at home and abroad.
